WHAT IS A CALM SYSTEM?
CALM terminals (Catenary Anchor Leg Mooring) are floating offshore mooring and transfer systems that allow tanker vessels to operate in open seas for the safe transfer of crude oil or petroleum products. They use floating and subsea hoses connected to pipelines leading ashore.
